Highway 50 Productions is a Western Colorado film, television and media production company based in Delta, Colorado. We serve as a local production partner for companies and filmmakers who want to produce projects in Western Colorado, connecting them with the locations, people, businesses and resources needed to work successfully in the region.
What makes Highway 50 Productions distinctive is its regional approach. Western Colorado has extraordinary production value, mountains, high desert, ranch and agricultural land, rivers, historic downtowns, highways, small communities and distinctive architecture, along with businesses, creative talent and people who can become part of a growing production workforce.
Our long-term mission is to build the bridge between outside productions and Western Colorado while helping develop a sustainable local film economy. Western Colorado has the locations, people and stories. We are building the production infrastructure that connects them to the industry.

Meet the Founder
Sooner McKay.
Sooner McKay is a producer, entrepreneur, and community builder working at the intersection of storytelling, production, economic development, and creative opportunity. A Western Colorado native, her path has taken her from the Western Slope to Los Angeles, the Bahamas, and back to Colorado, across film and television production, casting, entrepreneurship, and creative-sector development.
Today, Sooner is helping build the film, television, and media ecosystem in Western Colorado. As facilitator of Delta's emerging Creative District, she works across creative industries, business, economic development, education, government and community partnerships, developing production readiness and creating workforce pathways for emerging talent.
She founded Highway 50 Productions to connect productions with the locations, people, businesses, talent and resources that bring projects to life, while creating opportunities for communities along the way. U.S. Highway 50 stretches coast to coast, with Delta, Colorado sitting directly along its route, and the company is rooted here with a much wider horizon.

Highway 50 Productions connects film, television and media productions with local farms, orchards, ranches, food producers, restaurants, caterers and culinary professionals to provide locally sourced catering and craft services for cast and crew. Delta County and the North Fork Valley offer an extraordinary agricultural network, from orchards and organic farms to ranches, vineyards, specialty crops and locally produced foods, and Farm to Film turns that strength into production infrastructure.
Every production has to feed its crew. Farm to Film directs that spending toward the growers, ranchers, caterers and food businesses already working here, with menus that shift with the season and showcase what the region produces. Farm to table becomes farm to film, feeding productions while investing production dollars back into the communities where filming takes place.

Artist Company
Built to protect the work, and the people who make it.
Highway 50 Productions is preparing to organize under Colorado's new Artist Company structure, commonly called an A-Corp. Created through the Colorado Artist Companies Act, the structure is designed for creative businesses where artists and creators maintain meaningful ownership and majority governance while allowing room for investment and economic participation.
For Highway 50 Productions, the A-Corp model supports a larger goal: a production company where filmmakers and producers can develop projects while protecting their creative interests, intellectual property and participation in the value their work creates. Highway 50 Productions has already completed the Artist Corporations pre-registration process as Colorado moves toward implementation of the new structure in 2027.
